New 2018 Little League Bat Rules

When shopping for a new bat, what should I look for?

Updated Thursday February 22, 2018 by Laurel Little League.

Since many parents will purchase new equipment prior to the Spring 2018 baseball season, this is just a friendly reminder of this important bat information. Little League International has implemented the new USABat standard as of 1/1/2018.  This new standard will affect ALL levels of play within the league.  Laurel Little League is encouraging all participants in all divisions except the tee-ball division, including (Coach-Pitch (A), Modified Kid-Pitch (AA), Kid-Pitch (AAA), and Majors) to follow Little League International new 2018 guidelines for bats. Please review the new barrel size and insignia requirements. Please note that manufacturers are still making bats that meet the old USSSA 1.15BPF standard, however they will no longer be allowed in Little League (and most other programs).  Starting this spring ALL bats must have the USABats logo on the bat or they will be removed from the game!

Tee-ball participants may use their existing bats with a USABat sticker affixed to them.
